#751 – 10/14/2018

  6. Freeman – Is it right for a Christian couple to sporadically attend a congregation for over a two years and never place membership with that congregation or any other?
  7. Taylor – If a man requests to be baptized, with most of the congregation well aware of his live-in relationship with a woman, who recently gave birth to their child, is it scripturally correct to fulfill his wish of baptism? Isn’t this baptism without repentance?

Panelists: Robert Taylor, Sammie Hamilton, Cameron Freeman

Air Dates: #750 -10/7/2018

  1. Taylor – This question regards the congregations who are broadcasting their services live on the internet. I am not opposed to the lesson being recorded but when it comes to the invitation, a person responding might be uncomfortable with their personal life being sent out over the internet. What do you think about that?
  2. Hamilton – Why did God love the Jewish people?
  3. Freeman – Why did Moses have power with God?
  4. Taylor – Why did the Jews fail to recognize the Messiah?
  5. Hamilton – What is the real meaning of the parable of the prodigal son?
  6. Freeman – Please explain Luke 23:28-31? Who was it that wanted the mountains to fall upon them? Is this alluding to the destruction of the Jews or to some event that is yet to come to pass?

  2. Why have the demon possessions ceased? Are there no longer any demons on the earth? If so, what happened to bring about their demise?

  1. What is the meaning of the word Cosmos? I know it isn’t in the Bible but I have seen the word in some of my studies?
  2. Why use 1 Corinthians 6:11 (“ye are washed”) to support the view of baptismal salvation? Is there anything here that says washing means baptism? Isn’t washing just another word for cleansing? Don’t Revelation 1:5 and Revelation 7:14 make it clear that the washing is from Christ’s blood rather than water baptism?
  3. Why are there two genealogies of Jesus Christ?
  4. How is the Christian religion different from all the other world religions?

  1. Can God change his mind? (Jonah 3:10; 2 Kgs 20; Num. 23:19)
  2. “You are wrong because you don’t go all the way. I preach Faith, repentance, and baptism for remission of sins but also the gift of the Holy Ghost which was speaking in tongues just like they did on Pentecost.” Could you please deal with this response from our viewer?
  3. Brethren, I am a Christian. Lately I have heard about denominational churches preaching that when Christ died on the cross that he went to hell to save souls. They use Luke 16:19-31 and Ephesians 4:9 as their proof. I can not make this connection. Will you please comment on this?
  4. Should a retired Christian Church preacher, who decides he prefers not to have instrumental music in worship any longer, be allowed to have fellowship in the work and worship of the church of Christ? What would it take for such to happen scripturally?
  5. In Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 there appears to be 2 accounts of creation that differ. Could you shed light on that?
