#581-7/12/2015

  1. What about those in the Christian Church that were baptized for the remission of sins, but have only attended the Christian Church? Some believe they are saved but erring, others say one cannot be taught wrong and baptized right. What is the truth on this matter?
  2. My anxiety is affecting my health, my family, and my work. Where do I turn?
  3. Was Jonah actually swallowed by a whale or by something else? Some say that whale in Matthew 12:40 is not the correct rendering?
  4. Did Jesus live before He was born of a virgin?
  5. What is the nature of the “Great White Throne” Judgment? Is this only for the lost to determine their degree of punishment?

  2. How can we know that God truly exists and that He’s not just a product of our imaginations?
  3. In the story of Jacob and Esau, some teach that there is a difference between the birthright and the blessing. Is it the case that the birthright deals with the spiritual leadership of the family while the blessing deals with property?
  4. How could God say, “Esau have I hated” (Rom. 9:13)?
  5. I heard someone speak of presumptuous sin. What does this mean and are there other different kinds of sin?
  6. Rather than water baptism, doesn’t Romans 6:3 refer to a spiritual baptism and that when Jesus died, the believer died with Him; when Jesus was buried, the believer was buried with Him; and when Christ was raised from the dead, the believer was raised with him?

June 14 2015 Episode #577

Panelists: R. W. McAlister, Jim Faughn, Jeff Scott

#577- 6/14/2015;

  1. On placing membership, does one have to make a “formal declaration” of wanting to place membership in a congregation or is one considered a member by regular attendance and participation with a congregation without a formal statement? Some in continuous sin claim they are not subject to the elders since they did not “place membership.”
  2. Do you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, in his present glorified state, now is the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) that fills his body, the church (2 Cor. 3:17-ASV)?
  3. Didn’t the Father glorify His Son with His own Spirit, and the Son then poured forth of his own Spirit on the day of Pentecost those things which the people were able to see and hear (Acts 2:33)?
  4. Isn’t it the case that the Godhead is made up of two, God the Father and God the Son united both in name (Jehovah in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament) and in purpose? To have God is to have both God the Father and God the Son (2 Jn. 9). This one passage alone settles for all time as to who makes up the Godhead and what it means to have God.
  5. What do employers and employees owe each other?
