Special Program: Will Heaven Be On Earth?

  1. How is the phrase New Heavens and a New Earth used in the Bible?
  2. According to Revelation 21:1-5, will the New Jerusalem be the capital city of heaven on the newly renovated earth in which Christians shall live throughout eternity, and God will dwell with us on earth?
  3. Is it true that “burned up” should be translated “laid bare” in 2 Peter 3:13 and that God will take the material elements of the current earth and make something new for our eternal home?
  4. Can you deal with the argument in 2 Peter 3:13, that the Greek word for “new” means new in terms of quality, not new in terms of never existing before? It is suggested that this means the new earth is not something that is brand new, but a new version of the original.
  5. Does Ephesians 1:10 refer to God’s perfect plan to return and restore this earth to His original design for a perfect earth and a perfect place for man to live? If we who now live on the earth were to be taken into heaven, what would be left on the earth to be brought together under one head?
